The South Side Track Working Party was resolved to become a Committee at the May 2024 Full Parish Council Meeting.
SouthSide Track Committee Terms of Reference 2024
There is not a scheduled meeting of the South Side Track Committee at this time.
The South Side track proposal has now been agreed by the council, the contractor has been chosen and work will commence on the South Side Track Week Beginning 29th July 2024, as you can appreciate this will be a large project and the council have been approached by several members of the public to make donations.

South Side Track Project March 2024
Project Update 11th September 2024
We are now moving onto phase 2 of the project, to ensure the longevity of the project, and to reclaim as much grass back of the Village green as possible, the second phase includes closing off the eastern end of the track to Weeley Road and returning it to grass.
By reducing the access, the eastern end of southside track should receive less traffic and the expectation is that the surface will last much longer, along with the reduction of any through traffic along the front of your properties. The barrier is still to be installed (hopefully by the end of the month) which will prevent any through traffic from using the track indefinitely.
The access from Weeley Road will be for residents only and only via the concrete strips. The aim of this project has always been to reclaim as much of the Village Green back as possible and by completing this final phase the Parish Council will have been able to deliver that.
Please remember that the new surface is still Village Green and parking is not permitted on the Village Green.
Over the coming months new signage will be erected to support this project on the Green.
