Queen Elizabeth II
(1926 – 2022)
Great Bentley Parish Council joins the nation and people around the world in sending its condolences to His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
As our longest serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II was both an inspiration and an example to her people and across the world and the news of her death brings great sadness.
A physical book of condolence will be placed in GREAT BENTLEY METHODIST CHURCH on Saturday 10th September 2022. We anticipate that the Methodist Church will be open from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 10th and then from 10am to 12pm on the following days.
Additionally, any condolences can made on the Buckingham Palace e-book of Condolence at www.royal.uk or passed to the Clerk who will forward them for inclusion in the Book of Condolence.
Floral tributes can also be placed at the GREAT BENTLEY METHODIST CHURCH. At the direct behest of HM please no plastic covered floral tributes or soft toys to be left (toys will be removed).
At noon on 9th September 2022 the St Mary’s Church bell tolled 96 times – once for each year of Queen Elizabeth’s life.
At 5pm on Sunday 11th September the Proclamation was read at the war memorial in recognition of our new king – Charles III.
God Save The King.
