Great Bentley is in the heart of Tendring District, South East of Colchester, with a Parish Council of 9 elected members, all of whom are passionate about the Parish and all it has to offer.
Great Bentley Parish Council is looking to appoint a stellar administrator who is able to spin a number of plates in the air and enjoys working independently to take on the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) including the administration of its finances.
You will act as the Proper Officer and ensure that the Council conducts its business properly and in line with its statutory obligations. You will be the key figure in working closely with Parish Councillors with the aim of fulfilling their vision. This in the context of an expanding community to provide facilities and services fit for discerning Parish residents.
You will ideally have experience of Local Government and/or committee work (e.g., agenda preparation, minute taking), implementation of Council policies, the provision of advice and guidance on statutory and legislative matters and providing financial support, including the adherence to the Parish Council’s Financial Regulations. You will either hold the CiLCA or a CertHE (Local Policy) or be willing to work towards one of these qualifications. Training will be provided.
35+ hours per week, flexible working pattern to be agreed, some homeworking available.
Pay: NALC SPC 19 £25481 – SPC 24 £28672 pro-rata depending on experience
